Shiatsu and Bike Race this Sunday

Chair Shiatsu at Bike Race this Sunday

Join us for a day of thrilling bicycle racing and family fun at 48th and Chicago, July 24.  The 2011 Southside Sprint is the first amateur bike race to be held in Minneapolis in nearly 30 years!  Come and cheer on some of the fastest racers in the Upper Midwest as they fly past the shops and restaurants on Chicago Avenue and wind through the streets of the neighborhood.

We have lots of other family fun activities in store, too.  Kids ages 12 and under can ride the same course as the racers in our kids fun race.  Everyone wins a medal and anything with wheels is welcome!  We’ll also have some BMX stunt riders showing their stuff and a group of lowrider bicycle enthusiasts will have their rides on display.

Many of the local shops and restaurants are participating sponsors, including the South Chicago Avenue Business Alliance, Town Hall Tap, Wells Fargo, Bikes and Pieces, Pumphouse Creamery and Spruce Floral and Home.

If you’ve always wanted to try bike racing, try our “Citizens Race” - no experience necessary – and if you come early, you can attend our free racing clinic.

Racing starts at 8 AM
Kids fun race starts at Noon – right before our feature race.
